AMERICA'S MOST UNUSUAL…

During the hour, we'll visit different areas of the United States and find out what makes a town unique. We'll meet a husband and wife, Sever and Sharon, who own the largest family-built corn maze in America. For over 10 years, their 15-acre maze has delighted and thrilled people for miles around. We’ll hear about an annual festival that has made one town the garlic capitol of the United States. This year's garlic queen, Sheena, will fill us in on why this event draws crowds from all over the world. See why one town in Ohio is known as the duct tape capitol of the world. The parade coordinator, Heather, will be here to show us the beauty of all things "duct tape." We’ll introduce you to Angela, who has been involved in an unusual sport in her small Illinois town for over 10 years. The annual tugfest between the citizens of Leclaire, Iowa and Port Byron, Illinois is a local favorite. Thousands of people come to see these citizens compete in a tug of war across the Mississippi River. We’ll meet Frank, the president of another unusual sport that’s taking the state of Delaware by storm - "Punkin Chunkin." He and his wife, Billie Jo, a member of an all female team, will be here to talk about the sport and why people from all over the country build machines to compete in throwing pumpkins. We’ll show you how one woman, Victoria, turned her talent of weaving into a phenomenon when she started weaving clothing and other articles out of shed pet fur. During the hour, we’ll also visit with other oddities such as the banana museum in Hesperia, California, "The Coney Island Polar Bears" in New York City and more.
