Today, we'll hear the heartbreaking story of one family whose addiction to drugs has ruled their lives. Five women, spanning 3 generations, will be here to share the story of their splintered family. Since they were children, Shanon and Tiffany have seen their mother Terri and their older sister Kristi addicted to many types of drugs. They've missed out on family functions because their mother and older sister ruin every occasion with their drug-addicted behavior. Shanon eventually became a drug addict herself. She lost years of her life high on methadone and eventually kicked her habit years ago, but she wants her mother and sister to get clean. We'll hear from Terri and Kristi about what their addiction is doing to them and their families. They've used together for years and want to get clean but say they don’t have the means to make that happen. We'll also meet Brittany, Kristi’s young daughter, who says seeing her grandmother and mother constantly high has affected her life. She says drugs have stolen her mother away from her and she wants the chance to know what it would be like to have a real mother for the first time in her life. This family will have a chance to hear from another mother and daughter who have struggled through the same issues. Lori and her daughter Melissa had been drug addicted together for years but have both kicked their addictions. They hope their story will inspire this family to get clean. Cynthia Paglio-Minni, a licensed interventionist and substance abuse clinician, will be here to help counsel our guests.
